Go Fish Tag

Go Fish Tag

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the rules of a game of tag that models the sport of fishing.
  • Describe the importance of physical activity for humans.

Teacher Background:

In this lesson, students play a game of tag in order to get them moving and physically active. Players in the game have one of two roles: anglers, who must keep one foot planted in place, and fish, who must "swim" past the anglers. After playing the game, talk with your students about fishing. Many students will have gone fishing before, and they may have stories about how difficult it is to catch fish. Additionally, talk to your students about the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle. Games like "Go Fish Tag" are fun, but they are also good for us. Physical games get us moving, help us move our muscles, and help us learn motor skills.
